What I built
A first aid app that guides users through medical algorithms prepared by Dr. Murad.
My contribution
Built the TypeScript/Expo app and represented the Visio diagrams as connected JSON decision trees.
Key challenge
Preserving each question, answer, and connection while converting medical diagrams into app navigation.
Result
An English-language Android APK and a recorded app walkthrough are available below.

I developed a first aid application for ordinary people together with Dr. Murad Miskarliyev. He prepared the medical algorithms based on existing clinical protocols, while I was responsible for converting them into a digital format and developing the application.

Murad provided me with block-schemes created in Microsoft Visio. I converted their logic into JSON trees that the program could understand, including questions, possible answers, and connections to the next steps. Based on this structure, the application guides users through the process of providing first aid.

I finished most of the development in early October. Currently, the Android version can be installed using an APK file. By November, I plan to submit the application to the App Store and Google Play.

Currently, the application is only in English. After publication, I plan on updating it to more languages.

02 / Behind the application

Clinical logic.
Digital structure.

I wrote the application myself in TypeScript using Expo. After completing the code, I used AI tools to check it for possible mistakes. However, the medical logic of the application is based on materials prepared by the doctor.

  1. Medical algorithms

Dr. Murad prepared block diagrams in Microsoft Visio using existing clinical protocols.

  2. From diagrams to decisions

I represented the questions, answers, and connections as JSON trees that the application could follow.

  3. Building the application

I wrote the app in TypeScript with Expo, then used AI tools to review the code for possible mistakes.
